Principal's Message

Hello Huskie Families,

As we head into the coming weeks, we’re excited to share a few important dates with our school community. Pink Shirt Day will take place on February 25, and we encourage students and staff to wear pink to show kindness, inclusion, and support for one another. Our next School Council meeting is scheduled for March 3, and all families are welcome to attend and be part of the conversation. We’re also thrilled for our upcoming school play, Frozen, on March 4—we can’t wait to see our students shine on stage!

Please take extra care in the parking lot on Sproule St. during drop-off and pick-up times, as many students and families are moving through the area. Streets are especially congested right now due to the families driving students to school, and the growing snow banks which have further narrowed roadways and reduced visibility. We ask all drivers to proceed slowly, stay alert, and be patient. Please remember to obey all posted parking signs to help keep traffic flowing safely for everyone.Your assistance in working to keep everyone safe is greatly appreciated.

Mark your calendars... the show date has been set for Wednesday March 4^th for both a matinee at 12:00 pm and an evening show at 6:30 pm. Tickets are now available to purchase through School Day.

Students and staff have been working very hard during lunches and recesses, preparing for the big day. Keep up the great work! We can't wait to see you all on stage.

School Council

The focus of School Council is to meet to discuss events and fundraisers at Holsgrove, bring up issues with administration, and plan special opportunities for students and families. The support they provide to our students and staff is invaluable.

Our next School Council meeting will be held Tuesday, March 3rd at 5:30 in the Gr. 5/6 classroom.

All Holsgrove parents/guardians are invited to join us. Hope to see you there!

Bollywood Dance Event - Feb. 25th

Ramadan - Information for Families & Students

During Ramadan, some of our students are fasting and may choose not to eat or drink during nutrition breaks. To help everyone feel comfortable and supported, we will be offering an alternate, quiet space for students who are fasting during these times. This space gives them a chance to relax, read, or spend time with friends away from food areas. We’re proud to support our students’ diverse traditions and appreciate our school community’s kindness and understanding during this special time. Please reach out to the school if you would like more information.

Hot Lunch Schedule

Please note that when buses are cancelled due to weather our hot lunch program will also be cancelled for the day. Families will be notified of this by email from the school prior to the start of the school day. Families will be refunded the cost of the lunch for that day.
