It has been a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, friendships, and memorable experiences. Thank you to our students, families, and staff for your support and partnership throughout the year.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">As we look ahead to September, we also want to recognize several staff members who will be leaving Holsgrove Public School.</span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> Ms. Olsen, Ms. Stephen, Ms. Corcoran and Mr. Cherrier</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"> have each made valuable contributions to our school community, and we are grateful for the many ways they have helped make Holsgrove PS such a wonderful place to learn and grow. While they will be greatly missed by students, families, and colleagues alike, we are excited for them as they begin new opportunities. We wish them all the very best in their new roles and school communities.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The school office will be closed starting June 29th and reopen on August 25th. Our l</span><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">ockdown practice is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11th</strong></b><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">These practice drills help students and staff become familiar with safety procedures and ensure we are prepared in the event of an emergency. This creates significant congestion and requires everyone’s full attention. Please be mindful of the clearly posted “No Parking” signs, which indicate where parking is not permitted, and help keep traffic flowing safely. We ask all families to proceed with caution, follow signage, and remain patient so we can work together to ensure the safety of all students and community members. Over the coming months, Limestone staff will be reviewing and updating course outlines, assessment practices, and supporting resources to ensure alignment with the new provincial requirements.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><b><strong class="editor-text-bold" style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The Food Sharing Project Update</strong></b></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">During the 2025-2026 school year, The Food Sharing Project supported every LDSB school by providing nutritious food and resources to students each day. On average, more than 14,000 meals and snacks were served each week, over 530,000 throughout the year, with weekly food orders reaching approximately $17,500.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">We are grateful to the dedicated staff who make these programs possible, and to The Food Sharing Project for continuing to support student well-being across LDSB. This support is increasingly important as many families continue to face food insecurity. Board of Trustees Approves 2026–2027 School Year Budget

<p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">At its regular meeting on June 17, 2026, the Limestone District School Board of Trustees approved a&nbsp;$340.5 million budget&nbsp;for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a&nbsp;deficit budget balanced through the use of reserve funds.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The approved budget complies with Ministry of Education requirements and includes:</span></p><ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Operating expenditures&nbsp;of&nbsp;$316.8 million, representing a $73,000 decrease compared to the previous year.</span></li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Capital expenditures&nbsp;of&nbsp;$23.7 million, allocated to school condition improvements and renewal projects.</span></li></ul><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The vast majority of the operating budget is directed to student instruction and relates directly to classroom support.
