Family Update ~ Aug 31st 2026
Dear Holsgrove PS Families,
We are excited to welcome students and families to Holsgrove PS for another wonderful year of learning!
Our first day of the 2026-27 school year will be Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026.
Class Placement
Students will find out their classroom placement when they arrive on the first day of school. We know that children may be feeling excited, nervous, or a bit of both with the start of a new school year. Please reassure them that staff will be out on the yard on the first day to greet them and ensure everyone gets safely to where they need to be.
Please note that school organizations and class assignments for students are created before registrations are finalized, and as such Limestone District School Board reviews all of their school populations in the first weeks of school. LDSB sometimes recommends reorganization of schools and classrooms after the second week of school to optimize learning for all students. If there is any student movement at Holsgrove between classrooms, the team will share any initial diagnostics and assessments for learning with colleagues. Staff will be working on gathering information in the first two weeks and will collaborate to make transitions a positive experience. If there is a reorganization of our classes the transition will occur the third week of September.
Bus Safety
To help us have a smooth and safe start to the school year, for those students who ride the bus to and from school, we ask families to please remind your children about bus safety rules, including staying seated, keeping hands and belongings inside the bus, listening carefully to the driver, and using safe behavior when getting on and off. We appreciate your support in this important matter.
Medical Information
The Limestone District School plays an important role in supporting students with prevalent medical conditions to fully access school in a safe, accepting, and healthy learning environment that supports well-being. Prevalent medical conditions (Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Diabetes, and/or Epilepsy) require a medical plan of care for school. All medical forms are accessible through the Limestone District School Board website. If you haven't already done so, please email your child's completed medical forms to holsg@limestone.on.ca or reach out to the main office with any questions.
A friendly reminder that we are a peanut-free/nut-free and scent-free school.
